Welcome to Metstrade 2025: Weenav on a strategic visit to the heart of nautical innovation

Weenav took advantage of Metstrade 2025 to strengthen its network and confirm its role in the electric sector.

From 18 to 20 November 2025, Amsterdam will host the 37th edition of METSTRADE, the leading international trade fair for marine equipment and systems. Organised by RAI Amsterdam in partnership with ICOMIA, this professional event brings together thousands of global players in the nautical industry, offering a comprehensive overview of technological innovations, from materials to engines.

Metstrade 2025: a rapidly expanding trade fair

This year, Metstrade is breaking all records: the 2025 edition is undergoing significant expansion with new halls, dedicated spaces and an optimised layout to facilitate exchanges. In particular, Hall 8 is being reinforced for superyacht technologies, reflecting the growing interest in high-end solutions and refits.

One of the key themes of this edition is sustainability, which is present in all halls, with a special programme on eco-friendly products, alternative energies and green propulsion systems. These include innovations in electric propulsion and hybridisation, as well as new materials and foiling technologies.

The French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN) also highlights a record presence of French companies: more than 130 French exhibitors covering over 2,300 m², spread across the show's five ‘France’ pavilions (equipment, materials, superyachts, yards, foiling, etc.).

Why was Weenav present at Metstrade?

Although Weenav is not exhibiting this year, its team travelled to Amsterdam as trade visitors, with several carefully planned B2B meetings. The goal? To explore trends, strengthen its network in the marine industry, and identify partnership opportunities to accelerate the development of its electric propulsion solutions.

  • KRONOS, a range of electric outboards from 80 to 300 hp designed for demanding applications (service vessels, shuttles, rigid inflatables).
  • ARION, a compact and modular inboard electric motor, up to 1000 hp
  • Modular LiFePO₄ batteries offering high efficiency and an architecture engineered for performance and durability.
  • A fast-charging system: Weenav provides AC solutions (up to 22 kW) and ultra-fast DC charging (CCS) to minimise vessel downtime.
  • Intelligent energy management: thanks to a partnership with Garmin, Weenav offers an onboard monitoring interface, remote updates and real-time state-of-charge tracking.
  • Durable design: component modularity, IP67 protection and extended maintenance intervals demonstrate Weenav’s commitment to reliability and long-term performance.

  1. Electrification is becoming a standard of innovation, not only among smaller players but also in the superyacht sector. The “Next Generation Propulsion Showcase” (organised with IEMA) highlights this shift towards zero-emission solutions..

  4. Collaboration opportunities: for Weenav, Metstrade provides fertile ground to identify port partners, refit yards, and integrators looking to transition to electric propulsion.
