KRONOS. ARION. DORIS. What our names say about our vision of the sea

Weenav draws on Greek mythology to name its electric motors, symbols of power, silence and control.

BEHIND THE SCENES & WEENAV IDENTITY

At Weenav, each product has a chosen name. Not at random, not to look pretty — but so that, behind the technique, there is a soul. Here is the story of our three names, and what they tell us about how we think about electric propulsion.

There is something strange about naming a machine. A machine does not age, does not dream, is not afraid of the sea. And yet, the names you choose for your products say a lot: they say where you come from, how you think, and where you want to go. At Weenav, we chose to look for our names in ancient Greece — where the sea was at once a source of life, a terrain of adventure and home to the gods.

Of boating professionals to passionate boaters, our customers share one thing in common: the sea is not just a decoration for them. It is a field of practice, a vocation, sometimes an obsession. The mythological figures who give our products their name speak to them in the same way as the old myths spoke to Greek sailors: they embody strengths, virtues, promises.

So here's the full story behind our three names — and why none of them are trivial.

ELECTRIC OUTBOARD MOTOR · 80 (59 kW) TO 300 HP (220 kW) continuous

MOTEUR HORS-BORD ÉLECTRIQUE KRONOS

KRONOS

The Titan who controls time

🏛 THE MYTH

Before Zeus, before the gods of Olympus, there were the Titans. And among them, Kronos — son of Ouranos the Sky and Gaia the Earth — reigned as king over the Golden Age. Master of time and natural cycles, he governed an era where men lived without suffering, where the Earth gave its crops effortlessly, where the seasons obeyed a perfect order. The Greeks associated Kronos with Saturn, guardian of the unchanging rhythms of the cosmos. In the Alexandrian tradition, his name is confused with Chronos — the personification of time itself — this continuous, inexhaustible flow that nothing stops and that no one can possess. It is the sovereign force that precedes everything else.

🔌 WHY THIS NAME FOR OUR OUTBOARD MOTOR?

The KRONOS Is our high performance electric outboard motor available from 80 (59 kW) to 300 (220 kW) ch. But what defines it above all is not only its control over time: it is its raw power and its ability to deliver constant, instantaneous, measurable performances — almost timed.

Clear accelerations, controlled speed, optimized efficiency at all times: the KRONOS imposes a new standard of propulsion. And because performance is only valuable over time, it also pushes back constraints: first full maintenance after 5,000 hours of navigation, reduced operating costs, plug and play installation without prolonged downtime.

Like the Titan it's named after, KRONOS doesn't just last — it dominates. It embodies a sovereign power, capable of expressing itself in the moment as well as in the long term. For demanding professionals as well as for experienced boaters, it is the meeting between speed, efficiency and absolute control.

ELECTRIC & HYBRID INBOARD MOTOR · 50 (37 kW) TO 500 HP (375 kW) continuous

ARION

The immortal horse of the waters

🏛 THE MYTH

In Greek mythology, Arion — Areíôn — is no ordinary hero. It's a horse. But not just any one: the fastest in the world, immortal, gifted with speech according to Properce. Born from a divine breath, it feeds on gold. There are no obstacles stopping him. No terrain can tame it. Arion wasn't made to stay at the stable — it was made to go faster, farther, without ever failing.

What is striking about this myth is power without excess. Arion does not destroy. It does not crush. He runs — with absolute efficiency, an endurance that is beyond comprehension, and the discretion that is typical of truly powerful beings.

🔌 WHY THIS NAME FOR OUR INBOARD ENGINE?

The ARION is Weenav's electric or hybrid inboard motor, from 50 hp (37 kW) to 500 hp (375 kW). What sets it apart? It cannot be seen. He does not get along. But it keeps up its pace, in all circumstances, without ever stopping.

Like the immortal horse, Weenav's ARION is designed for professionals who can't afford failure — service ships, water taxis, lifeboats, lifeboats, transport catamarans. Uses where the power must be there, constant, silent, reliable. Where you don't ask your engine to shine, but to never give up.

Fast. Immortal. Discreet. ARION.

SMART JOYSTICK

DORIS

The goddess who rules the seas

🏛 THE MYTH

In Hesiod's Theogony, Doris is an Oceanid — daughter of Ocean and Tethys, the primal forces that surround the world. Wife of Nereus, the wise old man of the sea, she is the mother of the fifty Nereids, those marine nymphs benevolent to sailors in distress, the most famous of which are Amphitrite, queen of the seas alongside Poseidon, and Thetis, mother of Achilles. Doris is not a figure of combat or conquest. She is an interface figure: the one who connects the abyssal depths to the mortal world, the one through which knowledge from the seabed rises to the surface. In some traditions, its name evokes the bounty of the sea — that precise moment when fresh river water mingles with ocean brine. The crossing point, the place of junction, the intelligence of the environment.

🔌 WHY THIS NAME FOR OUR JOYSTICK?

DORIS Is the Smart joystick that controls Weenav motors. In one gesture, it transmits the pilot's intention to the engine — with a precision and responsiveness that professionals recognize immediately. Interface between man and machine, between intention and propulsion, she plays exactly the role of Doris in mythology: that of the link, of the essential intermediary, of the bridge without which nothing would really be transmitted.

For a professional speedboat captain who maneuvers several times a day in tight spaces, or for a boater who approaches a port at a rising tide, the quality of this interface is not a detail. It is the difference between experienced navigation and controlled navigation. DORIS is that bond of trust between human decision and electrical energy — discreet, precise, indispensable.

OUR VISION

A trinity that is no coincidence

Kronos, Arion, Doris. A Titan who is the master of time. An immortal horse that nothing can stop.. A goddess who makes the link between the deep and the surface. These three figures are not the same — and that's exactly why they work together.

At Weenav, we design marine electric propulsion systems for professionals who have no right to make mistakes: shipowners, service ship operators, maritime transport companies, boat rental companies, boat rental companies. And for boaters who no longer want to choose between performance and environmental commitment.

Greek mythology teaches us that the sea is never neutral — it tests, it reveals, it rewards those who respect it. Our ambition, with each engine we manufacture in France, is to give those who sail in France the tools to truly respect it: powerful, sustainable, silent systems, designed for the long term.

Kronos rules the weather. Arion tames the sea. Doris connects the two worlds. Together, they form a comprehensive philosophy of electric navigation.
